1933

Piero Manzoni is born on 13 July in Soncino in the Cremona province of Italy, the eldest of five children.

1956

Makes his debut at "Fiera Mercato" at the Castello Sforzesco in Soncino.

1957

Exhibits his work at "Movimento Arte Nucleare" at the Galleria San Fedele in Milan. The subject matter is primarily anthropomorphic silhouettes and everyday objects.

1957 

Creates his first Achromes.

1957

Formulates his first manifesto: "L´arte non é vera creazione".

1958

Exhibits together with Lucio Fontana og Enrico Baj.

1958

Commences collaboration with the artists Enrico Castellani and Agostino Bonalumi.

1959

Edits the first edition of the avant-garde journal Azimuth together with Enrico Castellani and Agostino Bonalumi, opens the art gallery Azimuth[RL2].

1959

Exhibits his first Linea in Pozzetto in Albisola.

1960

Exhibits at Galleri Köpcke, Copenhagen; Linea, Corpi de Aria, Achromes, and Uova sculptura.

1960

Spends time in Herning. On 4 July he creates the work Linea Lunga 7200 metri in Herning.

1960

"Consumazione dell´arte dinemica del pubblice divorare l´arte" takes place on 21 July in Milan, allowing art audiences to consume the edible works of art Uova sculptura.

1961

Creates the work Base Magica as well as several Achromes, now constructed from a range of materials such as cotton, cotton wool, straw, and fur. Creates his "living" sculptures by placing his signature on live models. Also creates the 90 works in the Merda d´artista series.

1961

While in Herning he creates the work Socle du Monde (Base of the World).

1962

Writes the "Manifesto contro niente per l´esposizione internazionale di niente".

1962

Creates the work "Placentarium" and a phosphorised window for the Angli factory in Herning.

1963

Piero Manzoni dies from a liver complaint, aged 29, on 6 February in Milan
